I Guess I Just Can't Tell

When Alliclaus was born, everyone told me how much she looked like Andres. With very few exceptions, I was basically told that I had been just the gestater for my husband's female clone. Andres and I weren't so sure. She really didn't look like him in the "spitting image" kind of way.

When Mimiclaus was born, we weren't really sure if she looked like Alliclaus. It has quickly, however, become infinitely apparent that she looks just like me.

She's so fair that Sarah likes to tell me, "If she was one shade lighter, you'd have some explaining to do." She wasn't "blessed" with Alliclaus' gigundo head or her thick, dark hair. And really, I can't tell if they look alike or not. I get a lot of comments that they don't look anything alike. But sometimes I'll see a picture of Alliclaus when she was a baby and think it looks an awful lot like Mimiclaus.

In the interest of getting real with myself, I would like your opinion. Do you think my girls look alike? Do they at the very least look related?

Alliclaus on September 19, 2006, when she was almost six months old

Mimiclaus today, almost six months old

So, what do you think? Additionally, I'm considering changing the girls' pseudonyms on this here blog to something a little bit more name-ish and a little less cutesy. Thoughts?

If you look at those pictures of them at 6-months -- they have the exact same nose....so yes, they do look related!

And a change in name? I would have to hear the contenders before I could vote on that part... :)

I see their face shapes as being the same, and they do have the exact same nose.

I find with my girls I constantly see them looking similar in picutres at all ages. I do alot hey if Jillian had hair like Kamryn they'd be twins, but look Kamryn and Morgyn look similar in their Gr 1 pictures. Morgyn has always been my clone and Kamryn Bruces, Jillian is a good mix of both of us.

I cosign the nose thing. And they have the same eyes.

I have three younger sisters. Two of us look similar but the other two are nearly identical. I was out with one of the blondes a couple years ago and someone asked if we were sure we are sisters.

I have always though Alliclaus looked like you both!... The eyes are all you. They are both blessed with beauty...

Yes, I think they look related.

I work with a set of brothers who couldn't look less alike.

BTW...the first picture of M looks a lot like a picture of you when you were a baby; both very cute.

I do think she looks just like you. But they often change as they grow. I thought my girl looked just like my hubby, but now she is getting a little more of my features. They are both beautiful, regardless!

I say keep the cute names-they are fun!

Well, if this is any indicator, I saw the baby picture of Alliclaus before I read the caption and I was like, "Wow. I haven't seen Mimiclaus in a really long time; that doesn't look like her at all..." So, nope, I wouldn't say they look alike. As for looking related...when they're little, all it takes is for kids to have the same color eyes and hair for me to say, "Gee, they look like sisters." So for now, yes.
If you change their pseudonymns, will you change yours and Andi-claus' too? I do think everybody should have a claus.
