I've never been a person who thought that there was a specific age at which one was old. After all, my great-grandmother lived a vibrant lifestyle into her nineties and my grandmother appears to be planning to take out that previous record.
However, when it comes to my self-identity as old, I've always thought that 27 was it. My mom was 27 when I was born, and back then, she was one of the "old moms" of my friends'. Even as I've gotten closer and closer, and have had plenty of friends who have blown past 27 years and years ago, I still rather thought that when I turned 27, I would be old.
Apparently, I think the same thing about Andiclaus.
Andiclaus' birthday is today and, I have to say, he doesn't seem to have woken up any more crotchity that he was yesterday. That's good news. Perhaps there is hope for me after all.
Andiclaus was only 19 when I met him. It seems impossible that we have been getting to know each other for eight years, but I guess it must be so. He's so different than he was back then. He's a husband, a father, and a man who's made innumerable sacrifices for his family. But to me, he still seems like the vibrant young man who stole my heart when I was an impressionable freshman.
I love you, honey. Happy Birthday.
You too, Joshiclaus.
my Dad always said he felt old when he hit 27 because it was the most syllables he had ever been. Twen-tee-se-ven.

I know you didn't ask, but to me, old was 30 because for most of my life, that's how old my dad was. I'm not sure when the tale started but I assume when he actually turned 29, he never turned 30, not as long as I can remember, every birthday, he was 29. My 29 birthday was more of an issue to me than my 30th was. He died at 43, I suspect that age will be difficult for me as well, I just recently turned 39 and that wasn't very easy either...age...man...tough stuff, lol! Happy Birthday Andiclaus

27 was the best year for me and still the age I think of myself as... It wasn't that long ago but still, don't even ask. 27 is so great because you're at the best part of the 20's, the wise part, but not quite 30 yet. Have fun!

I remember my mom at her 36 birthday party and now it will be me in October. I don't remember any of her bdays before that.
That is scary. But 27- he is still a baby.

I'm a very new reader here (I think I came here by way of Miss Zoot late last week).
I turned 27 at the end of July, and I often forget just how old I am. Sometimes I am in disbelief at how soon I will be 30, and how old I must seem to younger people (that would know my age). For the most part, I don't feel any differently than I did, say, 5 years ago....except I yell a little more now, you know, because I've got the kids now when I was just planning them back then;>
