When I was first starting my book list, JP recommended Meg Cabot's AC fiction. Not really knowing what AC fiction is (I still don't - don't tell), I just scanned through her listings on Amazon and found a book with a title I enjoyed.
Size 12 is Not Fat is the first in a group of mystery books that Meg wrote about a pop star-turned-residence hall director. It's a very strange concept, but whatever. Britney goes to Berkeley.
Anyway, the book was a really quick read (for which I am thankful), but I was rather unimpressed. Meg Cabot writes a lot of young adult literature and I thought at first that that must be what was wrong. I had picked up a children's book thinking it was written for adults. But I hadn't. Size 12 is Not Fat is not classified as young adult literature, the main character is in her late twenties and there's *whispers* sex.
I kind of liked it, but would probably never recommend it to someone else. It's the kind of book I would happily read at the beach with Sarah back in the day while she read Lives of the Artists. I might even read more of them. At home. Where no one can see me.

For Book Club we are reading The Higher Power of Lucky which is catagorized as an adolescent book and I can't say that I am enthused to read it.
