My Book List Is Done, Dude

I decided to finish my book list. It was mostly complete based on your recommendations, but y'all were seriously lacking in the biography and religion departments.

Anyway, now I'm really struggling to not read any of the books on the list. I'm really excited about a lot of them.

I've got to figure out what I'm going to do about classes for next semester. I've arranged a schedule that I can live with, but there's a bit of a situation with the financial aspect of school.

See, I was forced to drop my classes in the Spring of 2006 because of some problems I was having with my pregnancy. What no one told me was that the school was going to have to pay back the government all my student loan money. Since I had been in classes too long to receive any refund on my tuition, the school is now billing me for the student loan money they sent back to the government.

Until I pay that back, I can't register for classes. Once I get next semester's student loan disbursement, I'll be able to pay the school, but I can't actually get my student loan disbursement until I can register for classes. Look, here we are. Back at the beginning.

Plus, I'm not totally sure that I want to be back in school. I'm really apathetic about my classes. I hate the thought of taking more money out in student loans. I don't think I"ll really ever teach at the university level, and anymore an advanced degree seems like a waste if I won't use it.

Blah.

I can sort of feel what you are feeling. I took my first MBA class and enjoyed it but right now I am rahter apathetic about continuing. I just don't see the benefits currently outweighing what I lose in sleep, family time, stress, etc. So, I think I am putting mine on the back burner too...

I hate the technicalities of money. It alwasy sucks the way things have to work in order for things to work out.

Ugh, that is so obnoxious. I can't believe they are making you pay because of a MEDICAL problem!

Oh, and on the advice front, Bethiclaus, I welcome any and all advice! I'm all about the baby advice!

Wow, that's a tough choice. I hope everything gets resolved in the way you want.

I would have a hard time waiting to read all of those books too - when I'm excited for a book all willpower and self-control go out the window. Good luck at holding off.

(P.S. My husband and I use the "The dishes are done, dude." line - and variations - all the time. Apparently we're stuck in that movie.)
