Joshiclaus and Sarah are coming to Kansas City for Thanksgiving weekend. I'm super excited and am trying to get the weekend planned. Unfortunately, Andiclaus has to work every morning they're in town. So far, all I have planned is:
Thursday
- Start Thanksgiving dinner
- Pick up Joshiclaus and Sarah at the airport
- Try desperately to get Alliclaus to take a nap
Friday
- Go to Nelson-Atkins Art Museum
- Probably go to Jack Stack Barbecue
Saturday
I actually have no idea what we will do Saturday. Ideas?
Sunday
- Church
- Take Joshiclaus and Sarah to the airport
Wow! This looks like a totally amazing, excellent holiday weekend. I really need to spice it up a bit. Since Alliclaus is in bed every night at seven, perhaps we will have a bit of debauchery one night since there won't be any need for anyone to drive home.
Also, we have a rather distant friend who is more close to Joshiclaus who lives in Johnson County, so we'll probably get together with him and his wife at some point.
I'd like to try to plan something nice for while they're here, but nice must not equal expensive as, hello, Christmas is right around the corner!
So jealous you're going to the art museum. I love it there and never get to go when I'm in town. My favorite thing to do in KC is going to Halls and guessing how much everything is, because it's always a few hundred more than you think. We also usually head to Atchinson and go to Nell Hill's. If you've never been you should totally go sometime (when you have an extra four or five hours because it takes an hour to get there, a few hours to see everything in the store, and an hour to get back).

I recommend the Plaza lights - it can be a cheap place to go - just walk around, get a coffee, or nice piece of chocolate and you're only out $5 or so.

MMM Jack Stack BBQ... When I was in KC last month for my friend's wedding, it was catered by Jack Stack. I pigged out on all sorts of delicious meats and cole slaw and mashed taters and I am just drooling thinking about it! Have a great holiday with the family!

Planing an activity with the big man from Johnson County? Better bring some cheese as it goes well with some whine. As far as Saturday, go to Jack Stack again or Arthur Bryants Then you could go to the Negro League Museum and Jazz Museum.
