File this under very exciting news!
A couple in my church received their referral last week! They are going to Colombia to meet their three new family members in less than a month!
(I might have done the happy dance frequently.)
I've been so excited for their adoption journey all along and now it's finally happening. But their family shower is next weekend.
Ack!
The kids are 8,7, and 3 and are beautiful. But kids that size can mean only one thing - adult blankets.
Hold me.
So essentially, I have eleven days to complete three adult blankets and then, like, seven more to get a baby blanket done for a friend who is about to pop. (If you're reading this, it's not you. Look away.)
I'm doing what I call cheater blankets for the kids. My mom hates when I call them this because they are the only blankets she does because she needs immediate gratification. Anyway, these blankets use two strands of yarn throughout and a giant hook to make only a few stitches VERY BIG.
I've got two started at home and when my mom comes in next week (Grandma visit!) she has agreed to help me finish all three. (She will not be helping with the baby blanket as her stitches are not-so-uniform.)
Still waiting (impatiently) to hear back from the doctor. I'll let you know soon.
Great blog! Just found it yesterday, and I am hooked!!
That baby girl is OMG so adorable!!!!
The hair, I just love the hair.

I'm also very excited for the Sweedens. I know they have been waiting a long time for this and I'm so happy it's coming true for them. I know you'll finish the blankets and I know the kids will love them!!

Well, shoot. I came over here to check on you. Curse that doctor for not giving you the news today.
Please know you are in my thoughts and I hope they have awesome news for Ms. Alliclaus. :-)

The waiting game is the worst.
The only kind of blanket I have ever made was the type where you take two pieces of fleece, cut the edges into strips and tie them together...it is lovely and so comfy..but really talk about "cheater blankets"! Even that tries my patience. Good luck finishing up in time!
