Andiclaus and I Are Lightweights

Well, not technically lightweights in any weight sense of the word.

Alliclaus has virtually always slept through the night. This means that Andiclaus and I are not trained in the art of new parent allnighters. We did some in college, but we are oh so much older now. But last night in some sort of teething/gas combination, she woke up at 1am...and screamed for five hours! The only time she calmed down was while I was nursing, but because she is teething, I can only do that for so long. I'm not a teething ring, chickie.

This morning it was like Night of the Living Dead in our house.

Luckily, I just spoke to Andiclaus and he and Alliclaus have been napping since I left. This is tremendous news. I just hope she isn't saving it up for me as soon as Andiclaus leaves for work tonight.

I think you are supposed to start drinking whiskey now, or maybe put it on her gums. I think you will like it more if you just drink it!

Oh God, Bethi, this is the worst!!! For everyone. Are you medicine opposed? If not, GIVE HER TYLENOL right before bed. It might help her sleep through some of it. Are these her first teeth? I definitely think the first couple are the worst, and the first couple of top ones take an eternity to come in. Lady got some molars (i teeth? I don't know what they're called but they are the big ones on the side), and it was awful. Fortunately she seems to get teeth in batches so we get more bang for our screaming buck.

I keep telling her (and myself?) that someday she'll really love having these suckers. But seriously, try the tylenol. If we didn't have tylenol I'm quite sure that at least one of us would not have made it to the one year mark.

Tylenol is the gift from God for teething. Donovan handled teething fairly well and really enjoyed his pacifier during those hard days.

Enjoy your rest while you can! You are lucky that she sleeps through the night.
