The English Butcher (my nickname for one of my coworkers) regularly says things that crack me up. It's as if English were not her first language (which it totally is). She uses idioms incorrectly all the time.
Today's: "When the rat's away the mice will play."
That's too cute ;-)

Have you seen Disney's The Great Mouse Detective. Maybe she has seen it too and that explains her mix up!

Ha Ha thats funny. My husband does stuff like that all the time. I call him Dubya. He makes up words like disastrophy (disaster and catastrophy) and mucks up little sayings and some times I have to turn my head so he wont see me laugh. Sad thing is he doesnt know he's doing it.

Ha! :) My husband will do stuff like that all the time - try to be funny and totally mess it up, therefore being really funny. Although I've learned not to laugh too hard because he's a little sensitive about it. I just pretend to go to the bathroom so that I can die laughing in private.
