It Sucks As It Cuts

I have a favorite coworker. She is young and skinny and blond, so I ought to hate her. But instead I find her fantastic. She's super smart and funny and since she doesn't work in my chain of command, I have absolutely no reason to hate her. Her name is Andrea.

Today, I found out something horrifying about Andrea. Here is our story.

She says to me today, "Hey Bethiclaus! I have something to show you! Have you ever seen a Flowbee?"

"Heh. Yeah. 'It sucks as it cuts. Well, it certainly does suck.'"

"Oh. I'd never seen one before. Can you believe they make these?"

"Um, you've seen Wayne's World, right?"

"Wayne's World? No. I don't think so."

What? How can my favorite coworker not have seen Wayne's World? This is completely tragic in my opinion. All my friends (read Sarah) love Wayne's World. In fact, I guarantee that if I called Sarah and said, "Hey Sarah, you know the Flowbee?," she would say, "It sucks as it cuts."

It is quite possible that I quote Wayne's World more than I create original dialogue on a day-to-day basis.

Andrea doesn't know about the Suckcut. I feel like our entire friendship is a lie.

I think this girl was sent to you by some greater force than ourselves so that she may learn the correct ways form you. And isn't it nice to know that she isn't perfect, blond skinny and smart but never seen Wayne's World! It is her flaw!

Ha! I totally love Wayne's World too. HOW could she not have seen it? One of the great tragedies of the world, clearly.

Hee... I would have cracked up if I overheard that conversation. It's been way too long since I've watched Wayne's World.
