Blogging is Weird

So, until recently, I didn't really know anyone in Kansas City who read my blog. Except for people who I know in real life. But now I have a little blog friendship with Jack, from Drink More Jack. (Go visit him now. He's wonderful.)

So, the point is this. I live in fear now that I'm going to make fun of some random Kansas City person in the street and that it will be him. Kansas City is not the sticks, so I know that this would be highly unlikely. It would, however, be exactly what I deserve for making fun of random people I don't even know.

With that in mind, let me tell you about a truck I was behind today on my way from work to school. It had the following bumper stickers on it:

"Insured by Smith & Wesson"

"We're not too Fonda Kerry"

"Bush-Cheney '04"

"Get US out of the United Nations" (I can't really get into this one, but wow.)

"Wake Up America. You are the militia."

This truck also had four (I counted them) gas cans in the bed. I couldn't help myself from imagining exactly what this guy was going to burn. Books? Perhaps something more sinister?

I really don't care much about this kind of stuff. (You wouldn't know it to read my last few entries, I know.) I just hate bumper stickers. I mean, come on. Isn't there a better way to express yourself. Bumper stickers hardly ever make you sound smart.

Anyway, Jack? If that was you? (And I don't believe that it was.) My bad. Just kidding.

Hmmm, as a Kansas City area dweller myself, I shall have to keep up on your blog to maintain my reputation? hee hee

Oh - you should try to visit Alabama, we have SCARY bumperstickers here...some that even use the phrase "no fat chicks allowed"

Brilliant.

I am pretty sure that truck was leaving Chicago and coming to KC. We don't have many republicans around these parts so maybe he was just lost. You have to love many gas cans in an unefficient gas guzzling car driving around supporting Bush, I like to think of it as advertising for anyone else running for president :)

No bumper stickers on my truck, sorry. Although I think I have seen that truck at a grocery store by my house. I remember the militia sticker.

I have been thinking about this, but you may be the only "local" person that reads my blog as well. Interesting....I have not told anyone in my real life about it.
