So my car broke down. It didn't actually break down, it just needs a new battery. (If you say it with enough conviction, that makes it true.) Anyway, since I am a rental-car reject, I have to work from home this morning, at least until my car is done.
I have always though telecommuting was the bomb. And it might be. If your job is not designed specifically to be done in an office. They can't forward my phone, so I have to call in to check my voicemail every 15 minutes, I can't access the share drive, from whence comes all work information, I don't get to do any of the fun office gossiping you get to do by virtue of being in the office.
I'm bored between calls and I refuse to check my voicemail any more frequently.
I can't decide which sucks worse - my car or my job.
The idea of working at home is great, but yes, there are definitely perks to going to the office. For example, if I worked at home every day, I'd probably never get out of my pajamas. Not a pretty sight for the boyfriend.

Oh man, the car thing STINKS. My car broke down last week also and I think just the spark plugs need replacing. I'll start saying it with conviction also.
Enjoy the working from home, although checking the voicemail every 15 minutes does suck!

The car things definitely sucks, especially in KC where it's hard to get around w/o one. Sorry to hear about the car and work problems!
