I'm Hardly Getting Any Homework Done At All

What are you reading now, Bethiclaus? Well, like any true Gregory Maguire fan, I am reading Son of a Witch, the sequel to Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.

I'm so excited. I am limiting myself to one chapter a day because I am already falling behind in my homework and this book is not one of those that I can just finish quickly. If I try to read too much at once, my brain starts to hurt. (I think this might be due in part to Fefe, the nickname we have given to the Fetus.)

Speaking of Fefe, the Unborn received its first gift yesterday, from its Auntie Sarah.

This book is in both English and Spanish and is one of those "building" stories. You know what I mean. This is the house that Jack built. This is the wood that frames the house that Jack built. And so on ad nauseum. But the story is very cute and it has a recipe at the end for holiday (read pumpkin) empanadas. Since we will be sharing Thanksgiving this year with Auntie Sarah, we may be having Abuela's Empanadas instead of pumpkin pie. Or both. Because, you know, I'm pregnant.

That book sounds adorable! You'll have to share where she got it! I might have to buy it for potential future children!

I am so excited for you!!!

I am glad you like it! And totally jealous that you are already reading the book. I am going this weekend to get it!

I am glad Fefe likes to book! I am begginning my quest to be the favorite Auntie! and the most socially aware since I feel it is important that young people see themselves portrayed in positive ways in the books they read.

I got it at this local bookstore called the The Book Table. I am sure that is available through Amazon.
