First of all, I don't have cable. I KNOW. How can you have Tivo if you don't have cable? I don't have Tivo, either. Shocking, I know. It seems the entire Internet is in love with Tivo, but I am not because I don't have cable.
That's not really the confession, though.
I pride myself on not particularly enjoying reality television. Not because I think I am too smart for reality TV. I don't. I just don't want to watch real people. I want to see the pretty people when I turn on my TV. I just don't care about random folks or, better yet, folks who were almost famous like, thirty years ago.
But.
I am in love with Rock Star: INXS. This is crazy. Why do I like this show? I used to always say that I was okay with reality TV if there was no contest happening. (That's how I explained my inexplicable obsession with The Real World. Oh. The days when I had cable.) Lately, though, I don't even like the non-contest-related shows. Because, come on, The Simple Life? I think not.
Anyway, the point being, I have fallen in love with a reality television show. That includes a contest. And I want you to affirm me. So please. Tell me what trash you like to watch. And if you watch Rock Star? Please tell me who you are voting for and who you hate.
Me: Voting for Jordis and Mig. Hating Brandon and J.D.
I totally watch the Real World every week. I also watch America's Next Top Model. I'm addicted and I don't know why! :)

well, I actually have tivo but I only have the most basic cable package. This is currently a hot topic in the fancypants household--to upgrade or no? But on topic--I've also prided myself on my complete and utter lack of interest in all reality shows. In fact, I've been known to rant and rave about reality tv's role in the death of quality scripted drama. And then I watched Rock Star. I love it. Can't get enough of it. Want to marry it and have one thousand of its rockin' reality babies. so you are not alone.

How funny that you're talking about living without cable. To save money, I will be cancelling my own cable in the next couple of weeks. I'm ashamed at how conflicted I feel over doing this.
Reality Vices: I was glued to "Average Joe 2: Hawaii" and used to be a huge fan of "American Idol" and "The Apprentice." I love "What Not to Wear."
